Hello, I'm Amanda, a native of Wooster, Ohio, with over 25 years of experience in veterinary medicine, including 16 years in a veterinary behavior specialty practice in Olmsted Falls, Ohio. Yes, there are a lot of credentials after my name! In short, these credentials reflect my lifelong passion for animals, their behavior, training, and helping the people who live and work with them.
As a Registered Veterinary Technician with a Veterinary Technician Specialty in Behavior and an internationally recognized training credential (KPA CTP), I approach your pet's needs from a holistic view. By considering possible medical causes, observing their behavior, and working with you during training sessions, I can guide you and and your pet to a better family dynamic. I also know that sometimes changing behavior takes a village, and I enjoy collaborating with your veterinarian to get us all on the same page to better serve your pet's needs.
As a positive reinforcement trainer, expect me to ask you to have treats or your pet’s favorite toys available for our sessions. We will utilize a marker (clicker) to enhance communication skills between you and your pet, which will help speed up the training process. Don’t worry! I’ll demonstrate everything and answer all your questions when I see you and your pet!

Virtual Services
Not local? Concerned about your safety or mine? Disappearing shy cats? No problem! I also provide virtual appointments for behavior counseling. For our friends who have put teeth on humans, I will schedule a virtual appointment to set up a safe workspace before any in-home visits occur. You and your pet don't need more stress, and you do need your homeowner's insurance! Many pets, especially cats, are concerned about unfamiliar people in their homes, and they benefit greatly from these virtual sessions.
Don't worry - I have demo animals and can coach you through positive reinforcement training techniques!
