A Team Approach
Your veterinary team at Cleveland Road Animal Hospital has recommended my service for your pet's behavior modification and training implementation. Why me? I'm a Registered Veterinary Technician, Karen Pryor Academy Certified Trainer, and one of only 30 Veterinary Technician Specialists in Behavior. For over 16 years I worked directly with a Boarded Veterinary Behaviorist (DACVB) seeing cases - so, I've seen the worst of the worst when it comes to behavior.
As an RVT & VTS, I can work with your Doctor to coordinate the implementation of the care plan and make sure you feel supported during your pet's behavior journey. You get my veterinary medical knowledge, specialized skill set in veterinary behavior and my training skills! So, go ahead, ask questions about the diagnoses, meds, and why they think you need to muzzle train - I've got your answers and if I don't have them, we'll get them together!
Your Advocate for Care - Because Behavior Is Stressful!
I truly know and understand the stresses of having pets who have behavior issues. Not only have I sat in consult rooms with clients in tears thinking there was no hope, I actually have owned and had to go through the treatment process myself with different pets. So when you say you're concerned about bites to children, frustrated with pee in not okay places, or are angry there are holes chewed in drywall - know I have been there and I will advocate for you and your pet to get a plan that helps.
How Does This Work?
The first step is to book an initial in home appointment. Before your appointment, I will coordinate with your Doctor at CRAH to review your pet's behavior care plan and any medical concerns (special diets or allergies). From there, I meet you and your pet! If there are concerns about safety, I will contact you to set up a plan ahead of time to lower everyone's anxiety.
In the 1st appointment, plan to show me around, answer some more questions specific to the behavior concerns, and to start the training process! From there, I like to see clients every 2-3 weeks depending on what we are working on.
Appointments are $125 for the 1st session and $100 thereafter. A $50 travel fee does apply for locations over 30 minutes from Wooster. Payment is due at the time of service (Cash, Check, Venmo, Card)
